The pattern is the same as Havasu and if anything more pronounced.

Worth checking before any long summer drive: coolant level and condition, hoses and belts by feel, the battery if it is over three years old, tyre pressures and sidewall condition, and the air conditioning. Under an hour.

Carry water regardless, for everyone in the vehicle. A breakdown on one of these roads in August is a heat problem first and a mechanical one second.
