Sloped driveways are common up here, and jack stands need firm level ground. If the vehicle still moves, relocating it to a flat space makes the difference between a job that can be done and one that cannot.

This is the practical constraint that comes with elevation, and it is worth raising when you book rather than when the mechanic arrives.

A vehicle on a slope cannot safely be lifted. If it drives, moving it to a flat, firm space — a garage floor, a level pad, a nearby lot — turns a refusal into an ordinary appointment. If it does not drive, say so, because that changes what is possible and may mean a short tow first.

Shade is the other detail. From June to September an early morning slot is the sensible one, and an operator who suggests it is being practical rather than difficult.
